Since we started dating in 2009, we have been renovating. The first project was a two bedroom apartment from the 1950’s. Then, a 1960’s mid century modern apartment followed. This is also when the idea of a blog started to grow, and eventually the Olive Green blog was born. We invited all of you to join us by making the blog public, and looking back, we are really glad we did that. The blog become an integral element of the renovation project and a shared hobby, to which we both contribute in different ways. And now, we are about to take on the next challenge, building a house from the scratch. And of course, blogging continues.

So, who are we, and how does the team Olive Green operate? Let’s start with Pekka, who is an industrial designer, owner and a managing director of Seos Design. His professional background is in design and design related research, consisting of holding several different positions as designer, design director, researcher and visiting professor. During the past 15 years, Pekka has worked both in business and academic fields in Milan, Barcelona, Shanghai and Espoo.

For the Olive Green -blog, Pekka usually takes the majority of the pictures and is the primary source of the product / process knowhow. Pekka also loves hunting and restoring MCM-pieces. For him, it is the process rather than the end result, which he finds most intriguing and rewarding. Without a doubt, Pekka is also the driving force of creative thinking in the Olive Green team.

Minna’s story, on the other hand, is very different. She has an academic background in cancer science, after which she transitioned over to pharmaceutical marketing. Thankfully, she shares Pekka’s passion for MCM architecture and design, and so far only a few of Pekka’s obsessions have received and absolute “no” from her side. In terms of the blog, she writes the stories building on Pekka’s knowledge. In contrast to Pekka, Minna tends to prefer the outcome over the process, but has grown patient and learned also to cherish the journey, including stretched schedules and continuous innovation. Where Pekka is the innovator, Minna is best described as the (occasional) voice of reason.

In addition, our children, Sofi and Eino, as well as our dachshund Urho will appear in the stories. However, we decided not to post identifiable photos of the children, as their virtual footprint is not for us to decide but for them to define later. On the contrast, Urho visual appearances will for sure continue to be part of the blog posts.

So, we hope youenjoy the future stories to come. This is the biggest, craziest and the most ambitious project for us so far, so there will be much to share. We also welcome your insights and views, so whenever something pops up in your mind, please leave a comment or send us email at
